The flair and passion of competing nations during the 2017 Rugby League World Cup has been nothing short of spectacular, and fans have more reason to celebrate, with tickets on sale now for the 2018 Pacific Test Invitational.

Pacific powerhouses – Tonga, Samoa and Papua New Guinea are confirmed to play, and for the first time, Lebanon will participate.

An additional two teams will be announced shortly, rounding out the three-match festival of rugby league.

Player representatives, Leilani Latu (Tonga) and Sauaso Sue (Samoa) joined NRL Head of Football, Brian Canavan and Campbelltown Mayor, Councillor George Brticevic for the announcement, with the Invitational to take place at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday 23 June.

Both players were part of this year’s Invitational and said they were looking forward to the opportunity of representing their nations once again in 2018.

“The atmosphere during this year’s matches was incredible and it’s wonderful to see the continued excitement and explosion of the Pacific nations success throughout this year’s World Cup,” said Latu.

“For me personally, this year’s match was one to savour and I’ll be doing everything I can to keep the success of Tonga going.”

“It would be an honour to once again run out for Samoa next year and represent my people,” added Sue.

“We are a proud nation and there’s no doubt that the Samoan spirit can defeat any team on their day.”

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the opportunity for Campbelltown Sports Stadium to host the Pacific Test Match Invitational for a second consecutive year was fantastic for local communities, and encouraged fans to secure their tickets early.

“Last year’s Invitational saw record crowds attend, and there is already plenty of excitement building for the next instalment,” Cr Brticevic said.

“I have no doubt that we will witness another three fantastic matches in June next year, when international rugby league once again descends on Campbelltown.

“We’re proud to be able to host such high calibre sporting events, and look forward to welcoming international players to our soil as part of a multi-year commitment by the NRL.”

Tickets include entry to all three matches, with club member adult tickets from $12 and family tickets from $35.

General public tickets are on sale now, with adult tickets from $15 and family tickets from $45.
